Thank you for listing the concert on the 26th. This is being put together by a pianist friend called Michael Jones and me. We will be using organ, piano and we’ll have a quartet of singers, including Steve Davis, who has previously brought his Elmdon Choral Society (alas no more) to St Mary’s. There will be music by Acocks Green composers as well as, I think, more familiar pieces.
Please note we will NOT now have a violin.

  6. “Kimichi community choir was started to further the ideals and ethos of the school; getting pupils and people playing or singing whatever their ability. The choir rehearses every other week at the School, and is open to anyone who wishes to come along and make music. They rehearse a vast selection of Music, from Bach to Beatles, Musicals to Motets. As well as working towards their own concerts, the choir are currently working towards a grand gala event to be held alongside the Kimichi amateur orchestra, which is again open to anyone. Gareth Malone (The Choir, The Choir: Sing While you Work) tells us “Singing is good for your health, it lifts the spirits….what are you waiting for? There’s so much you can do”. Kimichi School says, exactly!” Rehearsing every other Monday (tonight!) at the school from 7-9pm.

Hello Farah, thanks for the info, I’ve updated the What’s On Page. Is this also to replace the Drop in Sessions that were running at Acocks Green Medical Centre on Saturday mornings?
