Canals & River Trust sent their litter-picking boat along our patch on Wednesday. Also we had around 20 volunteers out on Sunday for our clean up including 3 very helpful guys from Shirley Sea Cadets in their kayaks.

The Litter Picking Team from Canals and Rivers Trust – Wednesday 25th April.

We picked up lots of litter, pulled out junk from the canal bed and sowed wild flower seeds. The Canals Trust barge were continuing up the canal towards Birmingham and were hoping to remove the sofa that had been dumped from the shores of the Millennium Green. Unfortunately keeping the canals clean is a full time job because of some people’s irresponsible disposal of rubbish.
