Thanks to the eleven people who turned up for the litter pick along the Grand Union Canal on Monday 9th June.
Although litter is an on going problem, it was good to stop moaning about it and actually make a difference. So it was with a sense of satisfaction that within an hour or so we had collected 10 bags. What we need to work on now is encouraging people to dispose of their rubbish more considerately.
Well done to all, I wasn’t able to make it, but hope I’ve redeemed myself by regularly litter picking the top stretch between Yardley Road and Oak Meadow on my early morning dog walks
I get a few odd looks, but most of the regulars know me now and pass encouraging comments
Little efforts sometimes pay big rewards, and it’s good to see the whole area looking nice
Thanks Eileen, yes we can all have a positive influence, although I know it feels like an uphill battle sometimes!
What a gracious work. Would like to be part of it next time.
Well done all. I was going to come along, but the internal roof of my bay window collapsed on Monday so had to stay in for the builder.
Good job everyone. Couldn’t make it as I had to work late. Had a walk down there this morning and looks lovely.
