Successful Canal Clean Up

On Sunday 9th July a group of volunteers from Acocks Green spent a couple of hours cleaning up the Grand Union Canal with the Canals and Rivers Trust Volunteer Co-Ordinator – Steve Lambert. The group litter-picked, cut back overhanging branches and were supported by the Shirley Sea Cadets in their kayaks who picked up litter floating in the canal. Also with the use of grappling hooks the group pulled out 6 bicycles, an office chair, a table and a creepy doll! Don’t have nightmares!

Thanks to everyone who turned out. The next meet up will be on
Sunday 17th September, 10am, meet on the Vineries Bridge, Woodcock Lane. All equipment provided.  Come along and join in the fun!
