As part of the Swansong series, St Mary’s Church will be hosting a classical delight from the talented Verbunkos Trio.
Trained at the Birmingham Conservatoire the Trio will be playing a contrasting mixture of pieces. The proposed programme is below:
7.30pm start
Milhaud – Trio for violin clarinet and piano.
Debussy – Premiere Rhapsodie for clarinet and piano
Boulanger – Nocturne for violin and piano, Bartok – Contrasts
Katchaturian – Trio for violin clarinet and piano.
There will be an interval and refreshments.
Donations collected at end. Come and support this cultural evening in Acocks Green, everyone welcome.
Acocks Green Neighbourhood Forum 
Hi I’m a local resident and lover of Acocks Green (as well as a nature/gardening fanatic). I walk down to the Green every day and often find, if I’m lugging a shopping trolley, that the pavement is quite badly obstructed by the hedge on the corner. I really don’t advocate getting rid of any greenery but just wondered if you could get a bit of tidying up coordinated with the council? I’m tempted to do it myself 😉. Now that the bird nesting season is ending I would think that s judicious prune of the privet would mean it will rejuvenate for next year and also free up the pavement in anticipation of those wintery times to come.
I’d love to know if it’s possible and can I just thank you for all you do for our wonderful village.

Hello Tracey. Which corner? As us Village in Bloom volunteers have found out it’s often quicker to do things yourself than wait for council. We do a lot of work that in days gone by the council would have done. Village in Bloom team are v busy getting ready for the judging on 4th July if you would like to help let us know! All the best.
