We were lucky with the weather for our ‘Adopt a Stretch of the Canal’ session this Sunday. Thanks to Ralph from Canals & Rivers Trust, who stepped into replace Steve, our usual Volunteer Supporter after a cycling accident, (get well soon Steve). We tackled some of the graffiti, sowed wild flowers and picked up plenty of litter. It was great to meet some new enthusiastic locals who want to do something positive to improve our area.
Lots of people were out enjoying the canal with its new towpath. If you would like to be on a mailing list for the next session please contact us. Together we can be the guardians of our historic waterway.
Please share flier (below and attached) with your networks.

Deborah

Are you free to come along and help tidy our local park?
Living on or near Broad Road, we are lucky to have a green space on our doorsteps to walk our dogs, run, play football or take our children to the play area.
But there is often litter strewn across the recreation ground or trapped in bushes and hedges. Litter bins and benches have been removed and not replaced and there are broken fences and graffiti.
If you can spare some time, we’ll meet at the children’s play area, Fox Hollies/Westley Road end of the recreation ground.
Litter pickers, gloves and sacks provided by Birmingham City Council.
Contact deborahharries@hotmail.com if you can come along.
